Wheat futures finished the session in the red, but with most contracts finishing a nickel to a dime above their intraday lows. The USDA Export Inspections report states that 298,048 MT of wheat was inspected during the week ending July 30. This was a sharp 33.6% decline from the week before, and down 23% from the same week in 2014. YTD inspections are currently only 77% of last year. Spring wheat condition ratings dipped in the USDA Crop Progress report, with the fair category stealing one point from excellent. The crop is 8% harvested, while the 5yr avg is 11%. Winter wheat harvest has about 7% left overall, when normally about 15% would still be in the field. Illinois, Missouri and Texas finished up this week.
