Commodity Symbol Lookup

A list of all Futures and Commodities contracts is available on the Futures Lookup Page.

  • Commodities symbols are created in three parts: the root symbol, the month code and the year code.

  • The month code - each month is represented with a single letter as displayed below:

    F - JanuaryJ - AprilN - JulyV - October
    G - FebruaryK - MayQ - AugustX - November
    H - MarchM - JuneU - SeptemberZ - December

  • The year code - is displayed as one digit. Hence 2008 would be displayed as 8, and 2009 as 9

    For example: US (T-Bond) June 2008 would be displayed as USM8.
    US is the commodity code
    M is the month of June
    8 is for the year 2008

    Cash contracts, when available, can be obtained by prefixing Y0 (zero) to the commodity code in place of the month and year code.
