Metals prices this morning are mixed: GCJ5 -1.3 (-0.11%), SIK5 +0.012 (+0.07%), HGK5 +0.005 (+0.17%). Metals prices on Wednesday settled mixed with May silver at a 2-month low: Closes: GCJ5 -3.5 (-0.29%), SIK5 -0.081 (-0.50%), HGK5 +0.0030 (+0.11%). Bearish factors included (1) the rally in the dollar index to a 11-1/3 year high, and (2) fund selling of gold after long gold positions in ETFs tumbled to a 1-month low on Tuesday. Copper prices recovered their losses and closed higher on the upbeat Fed Beige Book that said the U.S. economy continued to expand.
