Metals prices this morning are higher: GCQ6 +12.0 (+0.91%), SIN6 +0.036 (+0.20%), HGN6 +0.007 (+0.31%). Friday's closes: GCQ6 +59.3 (+4.69%), SIN6 +0.436 (+2.51%), HGN6 -0.0520 (-2.40%). Metals prices on Friday settled mixed with Aug gold at a 2-1/4 year high and Jul silver at a 17-month high. Precious metals prices were boosted by safe-haven demand caused by the Brexit vote and by demand for gold as an alternative asset as the Brexit vote made a Fed rate hike extremely unlikely in 2016. Copper closed lower on concern that the Brexit vote will hurt economic growth and industrial metals demand in the UK and Europe.
