Metals prices this morning are weaker: GCM3 -3.6 (-0.26%), SIN -0.007 (-0.03%), HGN3 -0.008 (-0.22%). Metals prices on Monday settled higher. June gold posted a 1-month low and July silver tumbled to a 2-1/2 year low but both markets recovered their losses and closed higher as a weak dollar and bargain hunting boosted prices. Silver had plunged to a 2-1/2 year low on signs of fund liquidation after Bloomberg data showed holdings in silver-backed ETPs fell to 19,299.2 tons on Friday, a 4-month low. Copper closed higher and received a boost on optimism that industrial metals demand may improve as the global economy expands after Japan's Cabinet Office upgraded its outlook on the Japanese economy. Closes: GCM3 +19.4 (+1.42%), SIN3 +0.230 (+1.03%), HGN3 +0.0370 (+1.11%).
