Metals this morning are higher. GCZ6 +3.9 (+0.29%), SIU6 +0.126 (+0.68%), HGU6 +0.008 (+0.39%). Thursday's closes: GCZ6 -5.1 (-0.38%), SIU6 -0.067 (-0.36%), HGU6 unch. Metals on Thursday settle mixed with Dec gold at a 1-month low and Sep silver at a 1-3/4 month low. Metals prices were undercut by long liquidation pressure ahead of Friday's speech by Fed Chair Yellen where she may provide clues as to when the Fed will next raise interest rates. Copper recovered from early losses and closed unchanged on signs of U.S. economic strength after Jul durable goods orders rose more than expected.
