| Moving Regression Line
This study is also known as time series forecast and moving linear
regression. With default parameters, it plots the end points of a
series of 20-period linear regression lines with a zero period
offset.
A linear regression line is the straight line which produces the
best mathematical description of the prices over the last 20-
periods. Using a positive offset will move the results to the
right, and conversley a negative offset will move the results to
the left.
Interpretation is similar to that for the moving average and
offset moving average, except that the Time Series Forcast will
usually respond to price divergences faster than the moving
average, given the same number of time periods.
The default time period parameter is 20, but as with most
studies, this can be varied by inserting a value in the first
parameter field. The default offset parameter is zero, and this
can be adjusted by keying a value into the second parameter
field.
